What happened was a test of my faith” – Husband of murdered Maiduguri housewife speaks after release from police custody
Borno State Police Command has released Adamu Alhaji Ibrahim, who was arrested in connection with the murder of his 21-year-old wife, Fatima Alhaji Bukar, in Maiduguri.
Bukar was released on Tuesday afternoon, October 24, after police arrested a 23-year-old suspected, Abatcha Bukar, who confessed to the killing.
Speaking to journalists at his family’s residence, the banker said ‘the truth has prevailed’, without giving any further details.
“What happened was a test of my faith and it could happen to anyone,” he said.
“I however have forgiven everyone, including those who tried to malign and tarnish my image. I have forgiven everyone,’ he added.
Adamu, who was not allowed to attend his wife’s funeral, later paid a poignant visit to her grave.
