Veteran Edo singer Pa Monday Igbinidu has filed a N200m lawsuit against the fast-rising singer, Shallopopi over the alleged inappropriate sampling of his song “Obapluto”(N’ogbaisi).
This is coming after he accused Shallipopi and his mother of allegedly deceptively reaching out to him and tipping him N50,000 after the song had already been recorded and published.
Shallopopi has been given a week to make necessary arrangements, including acknowledging Pa Monday on the song. This was conveyed in the lawsuit notice titled “Copyright infringement of the musical work of Monday Edosomwan Igbinidu alias Monday Edo Igbinidu- Demand to render account, compensation and an apology”.
Failure to do this, the legal team of Pa Monday Igbinidu will move on with the N200m lawsuit.
