The Lagos state police command has arrested two men identified as Sunday Osagie and Ayodele Adeolu, for robbing and assaulting skitmaker and actress Ekwutosi Philo.
In a statement released on Tuesday morning October 31, the police command said one of the arrested men, Sunday Osagie, was a Spy/Mechanic employed by the Lagos State Government in May 2011. The command said Osagie was dismissed from Lagos State Public Service and dekitted in April 2023 for “absence from duty for six months without permission, illegal duties, and extortion of money from innocent citizens.‘’
In a video posted online, Philo recounted how the men invaded her car and thereafter assaulted her. She said one of her assaulters was a police officer whose phone fell inside her car during the assault and that it was the phone she used in identifying the man and his wife. She added that the officers left only after she raised the alarm and people gathered.
She said that she realised her purse with local and foreign currencies was missing when they left. She also said she was injured by the officer during the incident, which took place in Alapere, Lagos State.
