The real anger amongst many Nigerian men is that they cannot do to their wives what their Dads did to their mothers – UK-based man says
A UK-based Nigerian married father of one has said that many Nigerian men are angry because they cannot wield absolute power over their wives like their fathers did. He further said that a lot of mothers would have left their marriages, if they have the freedom women of nowadays have.
“Honestly the real anger amongst many Nigerian men is that they cannot do to their wives what their Dad’s did to their mothers. They saw their dads wield absolute power & respect just because they were men. That doesn’t exist anymore. These days you have to earn it,” he tweeted.
“Not all marriages were unhappy. But a lot of people’s mothers would have left their marriages if they had the freedom than women nowadays have.”
