Police in Anambra State have arrested a 25-year-old man, Samuel Eze, for being in possession of a freshly severed human breast in Awada, Obosi, located in Idemili North Local Government Area.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the arrest on Sunday in Awka during a review of recent security operations carried out across the state.
According to him, Eze was apprehended on Saturday, July 6, around 3:30 p.m. by a combined security team comprising officers from the Awada Police Division and members of the Anambra State Vigilante Service.
“The patrol team arrested 25-year-old Samuel Eze along Jude Onyekwere Street, Awada, Obosi, with a fresh female breast in his possession,” Ikenga said.
He disclosed that the body part has been deposited at a mortuary for further investigation, while the suspect is currently undergoing interrogation.
In a related development, Ikenga revealed that police operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad rescued a kidnapped truck driver on July 4 at Enugwu Ukwu in Njikoka LGA.
The driver had been abducted along with a truck carrying custard powder valued at ₦9.5 million.
“Acting on credible intelligence, the operatives rescued the victim around 12:45 p.m. Three suspects—Udegenyi Ugochukwu (38), Anayochukwu Okonkwo (47), and Good Odigili (47)—were arrested in connection with the case,” he said.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to hijacking the truck and tying up the driver in a nearby bush.
They allegedly diverted the goods, which were originally intended for a warehouse in Asaba, Delta State, to Enugwu Ukwu.
Meanwhile, police officers attached to the Obosi Division also recovered a suspected stolen vehicle, a silver Toyota Sienna, on July 5.
The vehicle was found abandoned along Okpuno-Umuota Village Road in Obosi. It bore an inscription reading “Forum of Accountants Delta State.”
The police have asked anyone with claims to the vehicle to present valid proof of ownership for verification.
DSP Ikenga assured residents of the command’s continued commitment to public safety, noting that joint patrols with the military, NSCDC, DSS, Nigeria Immigration Service, and local vigilante groups are ongoing across the state.
