Leicester City forward and Super Eagles star, Kelechi Iheanacho is now expected to join the Super Eagles squad in Abidjan on Friday.
Iheanacho failed to link up with the team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates due to a muscular injury.
Head coach, Jose Peseiro revealed in an interview with NFF TV that the striker has fully recovered from the injury even though Iheanacho is not expected to feature in Nigeria’s opening game against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.
“Kelechi will be with us in Cote d’Ivoire
“He has finished his treatment at Leicester City,” he said.
Iheanacho’s Leicester City teammate, Wilfred Ndidi is already ruled out of the competition with injury.
The manager also revealed that OGC Nice forward, Terem Moffi a late replacement for Victor Boniface will link up with the team on Sunday.
