Chiwetalu Agu was filmed taking a stroll with his family in a rare video.
The actor, his wife, and his son, stepped out for an evening walk and this was filmed.
In the video, the popular actor is seen holding a walking stick while walking with a limp. His wife held his hand to assist him as he walked.
The actor wore a jalabia with the words, “Rising Sun” printed on the front. This is believed to be a nod to the Biafra struggle.
This comes years after the actor was arrested by Nigerian soldiers for wearing an outfit made with materials fashioned after the Biafran flag, with a rising sun visible in the middle.
He was later released by the Nigerian Army but was immediately picked up by the DSS.
At the time of his arrest in October 2021, he was accused of “inciting the public and soliciting support for IPOB”.
Now, years later, the actor is still making a political statement, though in a subtle way.
Meanwhile, as he took the walk with his family, Chiwetalu Agu spoke about a lack of basic amenities that Nigerians have to live through.
