The 21-year-old was the standout performer of the FIFA U17 World Cup in 2015, scoring a record 10 goals that launched the Golden Eaglets to their fifth title in Chile.

After the World Cup, he was sought after by many clubs including Arsenal, but the youngster chose to move to German side, Wolfsburg. Before his record move to Napoli, he also spent time in Belgium and France.

Victor Osimhen has now revealed he did not spend a dime of his earnings when he moved to Germany from Ultimate Strikers in a transfer worth up to 3.5 million Euros in 2017. Instead, his priority was his father, for whom he bought a house for in Lagos before his death.

“When I signed in Wolfsburg, I didn’t buy anything for myself with my bonus. I immediately bought a house in Lagos for my father.

“I gave money to my brothers and sisters and today, everyone is okay in their businesses. It makes me happy to know that they have enough to eat. They always help me and it is normal I want to change their lives,” Victor Osimhen said.

Although he has not featured for The Partenopei since sustaining an injury last year, Naijawide reports he is in line to make a return to full fitness next week. Napoli boss, Gennaro Gattuso has given a positive update about the Nigerian international as he steps up recovery from both a shoulder injury and Coronavirus.
