Manchester United legend, Van der Sar is reportedly threatening to quit his position as Chief Executive of Eredivisie side, Ajax with a role in the Arsenal set-up on the cards.
The Manchester United legend has been consistently linked with a move back to England, and although Arsenal are reportedly linked with him now, it was initially thought he would go back to his former club.
The Mancunian club are in dire need the legendary goalkeeper, and his work with Ajax has been nothing short of sensational over the past four years he has been in charge.
Van der Sar had a ten-year career spell in the Premier League playing for Fulham and United between 2001 and 2011. New reports claim he is in line to take over from Edu at the Emirates.
Edu has come under fire recently as the Gunners struggle in the Premier League. As they languish in 15th position, some sections of the fans have called for him to be removed from the position he has held since July 2019.
Manchester United are reportedly also keen on taking the legend on board, but with Arsenal interested, their efforts need to be sped up. United are also keen on Ajax’s technical director and ex-Arsenal winger, Marc Overmars in what could be a switch of former players.
