Barcelona have suffered another European embarrassment barely six months after they were humiliated 8-2 by Bayern Munich.
This time, they are also on the wrong end of a lopsided result as French side, Paris St. Germain came from behind to win 4-1 at the Camp Nou.
The match was a fairly anticipated contest due in part to the expected return of Neymar to his former club but it was not to be as the Brazilian suffered yet another injury.
However, despite their best player being ruled out of contention, French forward, Kylian Mbappe rose up to the challenge with a well-taken hatrick.
The result puts Barcelona’s Champions League chances in huge doubt. However, if history is anything to go by, the Spanish club performed one of the greatest comebacks in football history against the same rivals some few years ago.
Although this present Barca team do not look like they can pull off a miracle, fingers remain crossed.
After competing for 45 minutes Barça completely fell apart in the second half, and Kylian Mbappé ran riot and scored a hat-trick to not only win the first leg, but wrap up the tie for PSG.
The Blaugrana got a penalty thanks to a silly challenge by Layvin Kurzawa. Lionel Messi stepped up to the spot with confidence and buried the kick to give Barça the lead.
