The former number 10 was the favourite of many fans after playing across different countries. Despite representing clubs in Germany, Turkey, France, and England and playing some of the best football ever seen, Okocha was still omitted from the list of the greatest footballers the game has ever seen.

Although hampered by injuries, the Frankfurt and Bolton icon was loved by many for his many displays on the field of play. Several players have told of how he was their icon. German playmaker, Mesut Ozil, who recently had his contract terminated by Arsenal, is one of the many players to have revealed how important Okocha was. In a Q&A session on Twitter, Ozil revealed he had Okocha’s shirt while growing up.
