The San Francisco-based investment company which attempts to attract venture capital funding for online start-up groups has been involved with many sports personalities over the years including former Manchester United and Real Madrid superstar, David Beckham and former Tennis World number one, Serena Williams.

Mesut Ozil is now the latest football star to join the company and this comes months after he was demoted from the Arsenal squad. He was also not registered for any of the team’s competitions this season.

The club’s highest paid earner, upon confirmation of his status in this new career path said:

I am excited to shape and work on my post-football career while I am still actively playing football.”

In his new career path, the 2014 World Cup winner will be charged with the responsibility of giving advice on the future of consumer preferences at Class 5 Global.

Ozil was introduced to the American company by a former Arsenal teammate, Kieran Gibbs who also invested with the company earlier in his career.

He has been through quite some challenging occurrences in his career including a refusal to take a pay-cut from his reported 350k Pounds per week deal after demanding what the money was being used for.

Mesut Ozil also spoke out on the perceived injustice against Muslims happening in China and with Arsenal looking to improve their image in the Asian country, it is unclear if this had an impact to play in the current happenings around the club including him being dropped from their Premier League and Europa League squads.

He has, however, been supporting the club from home via social media with the latest coming with Arsenal’s impressive win over Manchester United at Old Trafford which was the first in 14 years.
