BREAKING: Mesut Ozil Left Out of Arsenal’s Europa League Squad

Midfielder, Mesut Ozil has been left out of Arsenal’s Europa League squad for the 2020/21 season.

The German has not played for the club since March while defenders, Sokratis and William Saliba also miss out.

Ozil, is the club’s highest paid player in history and he played every Premier League game under Arteta till the season was stopped due to the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic.

He has not featured for the club ever since and he misses out on the squad alongside centre0backs, Sokratis who had been expected to make his exit from the club in the summber transfer window, and William Saliba, who is yet to make an appearance in the Premier League ever since joining from St. Etienne.

31-year-old, Ozil’s future at the club has been in doubt and his omission from Arsenal’s Europa League squad may just be the final nail on the coffin.

Whenasked why the World Cup winner has not been in the team, Arteta said: “The team is evolving, you can see the level they are achieving.

“This is where we are at the moment. We want to evolve more and play better and compete better.

“We need to keep maintaining that. I’m really happy with the performance here, how difficult they’re making things for the coaching staff to select the squad.”
