BREAKING: Cristiano Ronaldo Under Investigation for Breaking Italian Law

Italian authorities have confirmed that Juventus and Portugal forward, Cristiano Ronaldo is currently under investigation for breaching health laws and protocol in the country.

Ronaldo, who was in action for his country’s goalless draws with Spain and France tested positive for the dreaded COVID-19 virus after a round of testing.

He also missed Portugal’s 3-0 win over Sweden as he had to return to Italy in a Private air ambulance after his positive test. He also missed Juventus’ Serie A games against Crotone and Hellas Verona as well as the UEFA Champions League game against Dynamo Kiev as he recovers from the infection.

However, the 5-time Ballon D’or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo is currently under investigation after claims by Italian Sports Minister, Vincenzo Spadafora that the Portuguese failed to respect Italy’s laws.

The minister revealed this to Journalists, confirming the former Real Madrid superstar is currently being investigated.

“Cristiano did not respect the protocol. There is an investigation by the Federal Prosecutor’s Office to prove it. “The virus has taught us that no one is exempt, obviously they are all people who have tried to respect the protocols as much as possible, but the only solution, in the end, is to stay at home.”

Cristiano Ronaldo has however hit back at the Sport Minister, accusing him of ‘lies’ amid the spat over alleged COVID-19 breach.

Ronaldo has tested positive to the virus a second time and is currently a huge doubt for his club’s Champions League game against Barcelona. The fixture is highly-anticipated as it is the first time he will face-off with long-standing rival, Lionel Messi since he left Real Madrid in 2018.
