Al Nassr Release Nigeria Captain Ahmed Musa


Saudi Arabian club, Al Nassr has released Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, the club has officially confirmed. It is reported that the 28-year-old winger has mutually parted ways with the Asian club as he hopes to continue his career in Europe.

The former Leicester City winger made the switch to the Arabian giants in 2018 and still had two years left on his 4-year contract before being released by the club.

The club made the announcement via a Tweet from their official Twitter Page, announcing the cancellation of the Nigerian’s contract.

“Thank you Nigerian falcon, wishing you all the best in the future Ahmed Musa!,” Al Nassr tweeted.

During his time with the Najd Knights, Musa won the Saudi Professional League title in his debut season and the 2019 Saudi Super cup as well. Musa has won 87 caps for Nigeria, scoring 15 goals.

Musa recently reportedly turned down an opportunity to join Turkish Super Lig champions Istanbul Basaksehir.
