Worshippers Reportedly Trapped as RCCG Parish Gutted With Fire

A new report by Premium Times has indicated that the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) parish located at Alapere area in Lagos state has been gutted with fire.

According to the publication which cited a video shared on Twitter on Sunday, May 9, the church was in flames with many cars and worshippers suspected to be trapped in the premises.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and at the time of filing this report, no casualities have been recorded. The incident has also been confirmed by a staff of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).

The staff, however, preferred not to be named because he is unauthorised to speak on the event. The staff said:

“Not that it just happened now, the fire started in the morning and has since been put out.”

LASEMA spokesperson, Nosa Okunbor and the church are yet to release a statement on the incident. This incident comes after the recent death of Pastor Dare Adeboye, the son of General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
