Muslims, Christians, Traditional Worshipers Hold Prayer For Late Olubadan

 

As the demise of late Olubadan, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji Aje Ogunguniso 1 reached third day, clerics from Islamic and Christian faiths, traditionalists from Ibadan and other parts of Oyo state on Tuesday gathered at the Popoyemoja Palace of Late Oba Adetunji to offer special prayer for soul of the monarch. 

 

The prayers which were offered in sequence were attended by prominent sons and daughters of Ibadan land.

 

Recall that the late monarch joined his ancestors in the early hours of Sunday at the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, at the age of 93.

 

On Tuesday, clerics from Islamic and Christian faiths and traditionalists gathered to offer prayers during an inter-faith prayer for the soul of the departed monarch.

 

The prayer in the Christian way started around 8:00am and lasted for some minutes. This was followed by Islamic prayer which had in attendance the Chief Imam of Ibadan land, Sheik Abdulganiy Abubakar and Professor Kamil Oloso.

 

The Islamic prayer was followed by another prayer offered by traditionalists.

 

Those who spoke during the prayer sessions prayed for the soul of the departed monarch.

 

Dignitaries that were at the prayer sessions included a former Governor of the state and Osi Olubadan of Ibadan land, High Chief Rasidi Ladoja, Bada Balogun of Ibadanland, Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke and High Chief Amidu Ajibade.

Others are Bashorun of Ibadanland, Chief Kola Daisi, High Chief Lateef Gbadamosi Adebimpe and High Chief Abiodun Kola Daisi, Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun and Deputy Chief of staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, Mojeed Mogbonjubola.
