APC Abysmal Performance At Anambra Election, Self-Inflicted – Nwosu

Uche Nwosu, gubernatorial candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in the last general elections in Imo State has said that the abysmal performance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Anambra State governorship election was self-inflicted.

The former Imo State Chief of Staff under the administration of Senator Rochas Okorocha, former governor of Imo State, stated on Arise Television on Wednesday that the abysmal performance of APC in Anambra State was self-inflicted because the primary election had a lot of issues.

“Out of all the aspirants in that election, 90 percent of them complained that there was no primary. I was expecting the party leadership to call them for a chat. Those people paid a huge amount of money, N23 million each, which was non-refundable and it is not a small amount of money.

If they complained that there was no primary, what effort did our party make to bring them for reconciliation? The party didn’t reconcile them before the election and some of them, whether you like it or not, have supporters.

You saw what happened in the Anambra election, one vote is important to every candidate. If you think that some of those people have no value in the party because you have found somebody who you think is the best and you think that the votes from the 14 or 16 aspirants would not make any sense.

These people during the election turned their backs at the party. The party should retrace its steps, come back to the drawing board,” he said.
