Nigerian artiste, Ayo Balogun, popularly known by his stage name of Wizkid has slammed President Muhammadu Buhari and also labelled him a ‘failure’ in a recent outburst on social media. The musician echoed the words of his colleague, Davido by calling for his resignation due to ‘incompetence.’
This makes it the second time in as many weeks that the ‘Smile’ crooner has launched a direct criticism at the Nigerian President on Twitter.
Wizkid initially called the President out for his poor handling of the EndSARS protests around the country, calling him an old man.
On October 21, 2020, Wizkid once again came at Buhari after a series of gruesome extrajudicial killings of peaceful and unarmed protesters around the country specifically the Lekki Toll Gate massacre on October 20.
“@MBuhari you are a failure! Old and incompetent! Step down! We don’t want you, your Vice President and your IG! Resign!” he tweeted.

The first time the musician called out the President, he asked him to ‘face’ his country after Buhari sent a goodwill message to the President of America, Donald Trump after he was diagnosed of the deadly Corona virus.
Wizkid is not the only one who has called for the resignation of President Buhari, fellow musician Davido has also made the demand as Nigeria suffers through one of its darkest times.
Security operatives were deployed to the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos on October 20, 2020. After the CCTV cameras were taken away and the lights cut, footage online shows how they opened fire at peaceful protesters who were unarmed.
