The biggest musicians in the industry are not the only ones with albums on the way, newbies, upcoming and musicians that have been MIA for some time are also going to make blockbuster returns.
ORIGINAL COPY – DJ CUPPY
Yes, you saw that right. Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, Daughter of Nigerian Business guru, Femi Otedola and known popularly by her stage name of DJ Cuppy will be releasing her first studio album this year. It could come sooner than you think, later this month or in August to be more specific.
The album already has young superstar, Rema confirmed with a host of other big names lined up.
The album is said to have about 10 or more songs on there and is one of the most highly anticipated albums as Nigerians wait to see what she can come up with.
All we know now is Tekno will be releasing an album this year, nothing more. He has been off the grid for some time and it seems he plans to make his comeback with this album. Despite being in the game for some years, this would be his first studio album and of course, it is highly anticipated.
Even the date of release is still unknown. Well, let us wait and see.
A BETTER TIME – DAVIDO
Davido’s spin-off to his last album ‘A Good Time’ is said to be on the cards and could be released any moment from now. Although the release date was initially reported to be this month, it appears we would have to wait till August to see what Baddo has in store for us.
TWICE AS TALL – BURNA BOY
Oluwaburna also has an album on the way and word on the street is that Twice as Tall will be released in August or September at the latest.
Despite it being rumoured the album would be out in July, it appears the release date has been pushed back.
MADE IN LAGOS – WIZKID
We all thought this album would be out on Wizkid’s birthday but we thought wrong. July 16 has come and gone but we do not have Made in Lagos yet. Instead, the Starboy released Smile featuring H.E.R which garnered mixed reviews.
Whenever it is released, it is undoubtedly the most anticipated album of the whole of 2020 when it comes to Nigerian Music industry. Starboy never disappoints and he’s not expected to here either.
Honourable mentions go to upcoming albums such as Celia by Tiwa Savage, Fireboy’s upcoming album, Mayorkun’s upcoming album, Niniola’s colours and sounds as well as Adekunle Gold’s already released AG Baby.
