Veteran rapper-songwriter Remilekun Abdulkalid Safari better known by his stage names Reminisce and Alaga Ibile is set to drop is 5th album in August. He made this announcement on his Twitter account today, 16th of June 2021, while also releasing the title of the forthcoming album, Alaye Toh Se GoGo.
He wrote on his Twitter account:
“Album number five! Alaye Toh Se GoGo. August 2021”.
As a follow up to his Extended Play(EP) in 2020, Vibes and Insha Allah, this album will be his first since the release of El Hadj in 2016.
The 40-year-old rapper who is signed to Edge Records and also the founder and creative director of LRR Records growing up and his listening to various genres of music, local and foreign have shaped his versatile style of music.
Reminsce has four albums to his name so far; Book of Rap Stories in 2012, Alaga Ibile in 2013, Baba Hafusa in 2015 and finally El Hadj which he released in 2016.
His journey to stardom started with his first and second singles titled ‘Ever Since’ and ‘If Only’. Since then Reminisce and gone on to feature in hit tracks, notable among them is his rap verse on a track in 9ice’s album “Gongo Aso” in 2018.
The rapper-songwriter is also famous for starting in a Kemi-Adetiba directed movie King of Boys. While he also recently kick-started as an OAP in a football show The Agenda with Reminisce
Reflecting on his love for sports, the rapper said he’s always been passionate about sports especially football. It is worthy of note that the song writer once owned a football academy.
The songwriter is from Ogun State and has mastered the art of performing in both English and Yoruba, his native language. He has several awards to his name notable among which are; The Headies Award for Best collabo in 2016 for Local Rappers, The Headies Award for Best Rap Album in 2018 for El Hadj etc
