‘Peaky Blinders’ and ‘Harry Potter’ Superstar Dies of Cancer


British actress, Helen McCroy has sadly lost her life at the age of 52 after a prolonged battle with cancer. The actress played the roles Narcissa Malfoy in the film series Harry Potter and appeared as Polly Gray in ‘Peaky Blinders’.

Her husband, Damian Lewis announced the death of his beloved wife on Friday, April 17, 2021. In a post on social media, Lewis said:

“I’m heartbroken to announce that after a heroic battle with cancer, the beautiful and mighty woman that is Helen McCrory has died peacefully at home, surrounded by a wave of love from friends and family,” Lewis wrote on Twitter.

“She died as she lived, Fearlessly. God we love her and know how lucky we are to have had her in our lives. She blazed so brightly. Go now, Little One, into the air, and thank you.”

Helen started her career as a stage performer before joining the Harry Potter series in 2009 featuring in ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ playing the character of Narcissa Malfoy.

She also starred as an aunt to the Shelby brothers in the popular 19th -centurey crime drama, Peaky Blinders. The Peaky Blinders Season 6 is reportedly being produced and it is unlikely she made an appearance before her heart-breaking demise. Rest in peace, Helen.
