The Federal Government of Nigeria has joined her citizens in felicitating with two Nigerians, Wizkid and Burna Boy who made the country proud at the just-concluded Grammy awards.

Via the official and verified Twitter handle of Nigeria @Nigeria, the country simply posted a couple of Nigerian flags in a reply to the Grammys announcement of Burna Boy’s win.

Nigerians have reacted to the post, with many lashing out that the country had killed a lot of potential Wizkid or Burna Boy who may have also won the Grammy.

Besides the official Nigeria page, congratulatory messages also came from @FMICNigeria where the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed congratulated both music stars.

He also noted they were well-deserved wins for the ‘Ginger‘ duo. The Minister praised their persistence in the industry and continued by saying that the awards represent a global endorsement for the Afrobeat genre of music that has propelled Nigeria’s increasing dominance of the music world.
