Following #EndSARS protests both home and abroad and with little respect from the government, Nigerians have lost faith in Nigerian politicians and have now sought to elect younger leaders come 2023.

This has led to the establishment of a new political party, Youth Democratic Party (YDP) which was launched during the EndSARS protests.

As the youths aim to elect a young president for Nigeria come 2023, Lagos lawmaker and former Nollywood star, Desmond Elliot has had his name thrown into the mix.

However, Davido has agreed with a Twitter user that Desmond Elliot is proof that a young person can still fail the nation and be a bad leader.

The former Nollywood star reportedly blamed the Lekki shooting on social media influencers and celebrities. Although he tried to explain his comments, several social media have rejected it including ‘FEM’ crooner, Davido.

A Twitter user used his account to say that the lawmaker is a proof that a young person could be the President of Nigeria and still fail the citizens. It was an assertion that Davido himself agreed to.

The user said:

“Desmond Elliot is a proof that a young person could be the President of this country and still fail us.”

And Davido replied: “This tweet underrated.”

While of his fans agreed with the user and also took the side of Davido, some did disagree.

In other news, Naijawide reported that Lagos State Governor, Babajide SanwoOlu has confirmed that military operatives were indeed at the Lekki Toll Gate and shot at peaceful EndSARS protesters despite the military’s denial.
