Jesus Christ is the pillar on which the Christian faith is built and Christians also believe he is the Saviour of mankind as well as the Messiah.

It is therefore no surprise that his name and pictures are held in high esteem in churches around the world.

Nevertheless, the Ghanaian rapper is not happy with the image of Jesus being hung around churches and homes and has posted a video online of him burning a picture of Jesus.

Fuse ODG in his defence pointed to the fact that Jesus was not white but the majority of pictures of him nowadays are of a white Jesus.

In the video he posted via his Instagram page that lasted 14 minutes, he noted that an image of a white Jesus shows that Africans are still suffering from oppression.

In recent weeks, early paintings of Jesus have surfaced online which clearly shows that Jesus was not white but brown skinned.

Fuse ODG in the video said:

“For the oppressed, as Africans, we can hope that the oppressors can do the right thing but we cannot depend on it. We need to take our faith into our own hands. We have the responsibility to deal with our own truth and it starts with this (pointing to Jesus’ painting),” he stated.

“This is a seed. This is the seed that gave birth to [Adolf] Hitler and his doctrine. This is the seed that gave birth to the KKK, the apartheid in South Africa, the Rwandan genocide, a people of colour bleaching across the globe till date as we speak, and the list goes on.”

He further claimed that the Bible prohibits making any images for worship and any image of Jesus at all is wrong and not biblical.

“This is not even biblical. If you read the Bible, it specifically tells us not to create any images in the form of a man or a woman or any creature on earth. This is ‘idology’ and again if you read the Bible there’s nothing that God hates than idol worship. We need to take down these images and worship God in spirit and in truth. This needs to be taken down from every single church in Africa”.

He then proceeded to set the picture of Jesus Christ ablaze.
