Nigerians on social media are currently calling for the head of Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi following the debut of his new movie, “Oko Iyabo”.

In the film which was released on YouTube on July 4,2021,the controversial actor, Yomi Fabiyi features characters involved in the sexual assault case of Baba Ijesha including Iyabo Ojo whom the story apparently centers on and Olanrewaju Omiyinka popularly known as Baba Ijesha who was accused of sexually assaulting a minor.

The actor had on Sunday, 4th July announced the release of his new movie on his Instagram and he shared excerpts from the movie.

The movie which he titled “Oko Iyabo” opens with a scene where a child actor, who plays Iyabo, tells her classmate her wish is to become a prostitute when she grows up.
In the movie,the actor also portrayed the disturbing CCTV video in one of the scenes of the movie, but in the movie Baba Ijesha’s underage victim is a consenting lover while Baba Ijesha’s character was seen as a victim who fell into a trap set by Princess.

The movie has elicited strong criticisms and disapproval from social media users most especially Twitter users with some savvy Nigerians calling the actor out for trying to distort facts in the ongoing sexual assault case of Baba Ijesha whom he had in the time past shown tremendous support.

The actor, his crew members, co actors and the rest of the production team were not spared in the backlash.
According to a Twitter user by the name Bhadoosky:

“Yomi Fabiyi gathered movie casts and crew to shoot a movie about Baba Ijesha and the girl. Named the movie “Oko Iyabo” and actually used the names of people involved in the case. This disgusting video was posted online. What is this guy trying to achieve with this level is insensitivity.”
